Save the Date: “Once in Afghanistan” film screening Feb. 24

A special invitation for our group:

Hello SEAPAX members. My name is Rita Hackett and I was a volunteer in Afghanistan from 69 – 71. One of the members of our all female group created a documentary entitled “Once in Afghanistan”. It will be shown February 24th at Shoreline Community College. We have found that our most appreciative audience is returned volunteers, so I hope you have the opportunity to attend. Please see the link provided for further information. I plan to attend your upcoming meeting at the end of this month and look forward to meeting you!

“Once in Afghanistan,” is a documentary film about the participation of an all-female team of PCVs in Afghanistan’s smallpox eradication program. Its NW premiere of is sponsored by the Global Affairs Center of Shoreline Community College, as part of its Symposium on Humanitarian Assistance. It is presented free of charge to the public.

Following the screening, two of the volunteers featured in the film and their trainer will lead a discussion and answer questions.
Information will be available on how to support non-profits working in Afghanistan that are recommended by the film’s producers.
