50th Anniversary Call for Volunteers

SEAPAX will be commemorating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the
Peace Corps and is reaching out to all RPCVs to get involved! There will be
several events including house parties, panel discussions, presentations,
parades, and much more.

There is a strong Peace Corps presence here in the Pacific Northwest. The
University of Washington is currently the top school in the country for
recruitment of PCVs, and there are now many hundreds if not thousands of us
living in the area. Yet for all our numbers and positive impact in our
communities, few RPCVs know that there is an alumni network dedicated to the
3rd Goal of the Peace Corps: Helping promote a better understanding of other
peoples on the part of Americans. In these challenging times, RPCVs have an
important role locally and globally. The commemoration the 50th Anniversary
of Peace Corps will honor all returned Peace Corps volunteers’ contributions
and inspire future generations to answer John F Kennedy’s call to serve
their country.
