SEAPAX still needs photographs of Returned or current Peace Corps Volunteers for our celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Peace Corps! We are planning to display a photo slide show during the event to be held at the Seattle Public Library on March 20, 2011. We need a minimum of 50 photos showing Volunteers during their Peace Corps service . Especially needed are photos of those who served from 1961-1991, with the most pressing need for photos from the 1960s.
The easiest way to submit a photo is by email: just send it as an attachment (.jpg) in an email message to me, Larry Kaye, at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your year(s) and country of service in the text. I will then respond with a Release Form for you to sign electronically, giving SEAPAX permission to use your photo. For the slideshow itself will include only the images, with location and date. Names of individuals will not be displayed.
Since photos or slides from the early decades may not exist in electronic form, they will need to be scanned. If you do not have access to a photo scanner, please let me now, so we can work out arrangements. And if you will be attending the SEAPAX holiday party on Saturday, December 4th –from 6-9 p.m. at the home of Mike Fitch, 5230 16th Ave NE Seattle, WA 98105 — you can bring your photo and I will scan it for you during the party. Please bring your B & W or color photo, with the date and location noted, to give to me after I make the announcement that I’m collecting photos for scanning. After you sign a release form, I’ll take the pictures to scan at my home nearby, then return them to you at the party.
Right now I’m seeking photos from 1961 -1991. Shortly I’ll be putting out a call for photographs from 1992-2011. Please submit only one picture per person. We need a minimum of 50 photos for the slide so, so please help us meet the goal!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
