All RPCVs, their families and friends are cordially invited to the Annual SEAPAX Holiday Potluck. We will be gathering at the home of Mike Fitch: 5230 16th Ave NE, Seattle, WA, in the University District starting at 6pm and going until 9pm.
Please bring a dish or drink to share. In consideration of food allergies and dietary needs of others, we ask that you please label the ingredients of your potluck dish.
Don’t forget your checkbook as you will have the opportunity to sign up for or renew your SEAPAX membership, participate in a silent auction hosted by Hope Through Health, and purchase multicultural 2011 Peace Corps photo calendars: $10 for RPCVs. 100% of Calendar sale proceeds go to the SEAPAX small grants program which benefits local RPCV sponsored projects and current Washington State Volunteer Peace Corps Partnership Grants.
This year, in recognition of World AIDS Day (December 1st) the SEAPAX holiday party will feature a silent auction to benefit the organization Hope Through Health (HTH) which assists individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Togo, West Africa. HTH was founded in 2004 by Togo PCVs, and today supports over 2,200 individuals across five programs which focus on counseling, medication/nutrition, anti-retroviral therapy, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, and orphans and vulnerable children. HTH Seattle chapter members including Jennifer Fiori (HTH’s Executive Director) and her husband Kevin (HTH’s co-founder) will be attending the event to provide more information about the organization. The silent auction will feature a variety of items such as African artwork and jewelry, US luxury goods, and services from local chapter members. Auction items can be paid for via cash/check/credit card and are tax deductible (HTH is a 501c3 organization).
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org so I have an idea of the number of people coming. Don’t feel like you can’t come if you don’t RSVP though, I have a smart phone so if you have any last minute RSVP’s please send them! We’d love to see you!
We hope you will join us at this very merry party!
